A lifestyle blog featuring beauty, hair, and classic style.
In 1998, I discovered Naturallycurly.com. It was a blog cofounded by Michelle Breyer and Gretchen Heber. (Naturallycurly.com is now owned by Texture Media.) The website gave advice about curly hair, curly hair products and it had a curl community where you could get advice from others. It was the first of it’s kind and I was hooked, just ask my husband!
I am a little older and wiser. I enjoy styling my hair with different tools and creating different styles, including curly. The best thing about curly hair is the versatility it gives you. If you treat your hair well and turn down the heat of your styling tools, you can preserve your curls even if you blowout your hair often. I don’t think I will ever be able to wear my hair one way all the time.
I have found the following routine works to get my curls to pop. Some of my favorite products are very versatile and can be used wether styling your hair curly or straight. For the record, I do not follow the curly girl routine. I have fine, medium density hair.
This routine takes me about 20-25 minutes once I am out of the shower. Lastly and more importantly, style your hair how you like to style it. Don’t get caught up in rules or on a social media craze. It’s just hair! Whatever style you choose, it should make you feel good and confident. Let me know your thoughts!
